Azmarino is an MC in the Melbourne hip-hop group Diafrix. He was born in Eritrea, in eastern Africa. He arrived in Australia as a refugee about seven years ago and has been living in Melbourne ever since. Diafrix started at a hip-hop workshop. Azmarino and his friend Momo, a refugee from the Comoros Islands, started rapping together after school. Now they are very popular! They combine hip-hop, soul, funk and reggae with African beats. As well as playing with Diafrix, Azmarino works in Melbourne. He organises workshops and activities for young people. Many of the young people he works with are African refugees too.
