Maya Jupiter
Maya Jupiter fell in love with hip-hop when she was in high school. She wrote her first rap when she was 14 years old and hasn’t looked back since. She released her debut solo album Today in 2003 and has just released an album with her new group Foreign Heights.
Maya is a public face of Australian hip-hop. She hosts the Hip Hop Show on radio station Triple J, on Mondays at 10pm, and also hosts Freestyle, the hip-hop, R’n'B and Soul TV show on Channel V.
Maya has also worked with MC Trey through the organisation ICE (Information and Cultural Exchange). They run workshops in western Sydney with young people, including young non-English speakers, and indigenous youth, and an all-female workshop.
